Osaka~大阪

We parked our car near Mishima station and went to Osaka by Shinkansen.

Amanda was excited to ride the Sinkansen.

御殿場に泊まったので、三島駅近くで車を駐車して

そこから新幹線に乗りました。

アマンダは新幹線に乗るのをとても楽しみにしていました。

Amanda said-

I was so excited. I have very few chances to ride on trains to begin with, but a bullet train? What an experience! 

電車にさえ、めったに乗る事がなかったのに

それが、新幹線に乗れたなんて感激！だったようです。

サンデイもその速度にびっくりしていました。

You don't use trains in Buffalo because you use cars to go everywhere. People said to us " It is very close, only 4 hours by car! "

バッファローでは、ほとんど電車は使いません。どこに行くにも車で行きます。

私達も車で４時間は　“すぐそこだよ、車で発った４時間”　と言われていました。

We rode on Shinkansen "Hikari" but Sandie found "Nozomi". 

I happened to be there, she took a picture of "Nozomi" with me because it was my name.

私達が乗ったのは”ひかり”号でしたが

”のぞみ”号を見つけた時は大変！

私と同じ名前という事で、のぞみ号の前で写真を撮られるはめに・・

We arrived at Osaka station; it was impressive! It is called Osaka Station City.

大阪駅：立派でとても印象的な複合施設のようです。大阪ステーションシテイ。

We went to Osaka castle and walked around there.

We found three sculptures of women in Osaka castle park. We learned that they expressed freedom, creativity and vitality, respectively. We posed in the same way for the photograph.

大阪城公園で見つけた三人の女性像。自由、創造、活力を表しているそうです。

We enjoyed lunch at Taikoen.

太閤園でランチ。
軽めのランチのはずが立派すぎて、おなかがいっぱいで動けない・・

Amanda said-

What a glorious lunch! It was Tetsuji’s idea of a “light lunch”. We teased him rather a lot for this understatement! It was fantastic!

夫は軽めのランチ、と言ってみんなを連れて行ったのですが

デイナー並みのフルコースとなってしまい、後から、すごいごちそうね、とからかわれました。

They kindly showed Amanda's family a Noh stage before the play started.

別邸にあった能の舞台。上演の前に特別にアマンダ一家に見せてくれました。

お世話になりました。

We went through the underground shopping center to our hotel.

地下道、デパ地下を通りホテルへ。

駅の雑踏と案内放送に驚いたようです。

おもしろいと言ってもらえたデパ地下ですが

あまりの人混みに私の方が気を遣ってしまい早々に出る事になりました。

The underground department store was too crowded to enjoy.

無事に終わりホッとしました。
